Mark Evely is Chair of the Department of Applied Health Sciences and Director of the Mortuary Science Program at Wayne State University.
Mark is a practicing funeral director and attorney whose legal work focuses on funeral service regulation and the rights of families in matters involving final disposition.
Mark serves on the Michigan Board of Examiners in Mortuary Science, as the Chair of the American Board of Funeral Service Education Committee on Accreditation, as the President-Elect of the Michigan Funeral Directors Association, and as a member of the Board of Directors of the International Conference of Funeral Service Examining Boards.
His professional interests include funeral service law and regulation, ethics, funeral service education, accreditation, and the future of the profession. Mark also serves in the United States Coast Guard.
